Great Weekend!

I've spent most of my weekend working on my blog. I'm trying to get everything set up the way I like and adding buttons to assist those who take the time to check out my site. I started out my Saturday taking a gun class to allow me to apply for my gun carry permit. Had a blast with my family and friends at the class and actually shot 86 out of 100. I was extremely pleased with myself since I've never been out shooting. Then I spent the rest of my weekend in my craft room along with working on my blog layout. I'm trying to get it to work with my Stampin'Up! account so that I won't have to try to post to two blogs. Hope anyone checking out my site with bear with me while I work out the kinks and get it looking and working great! I'm also working on getting some of my projects posted. I'm setting up a video camera in my craft room so I can record my work for YouTube. Stay tuned for further updates.

Busy, Busy, Busy!!!

Wow! Having such a hard time getting my days working with my planning. Seems like just as I have my plan laid out something pops up and messes with it. I have been working on the design of my blog and hope anyone checking it out likes the new design. I'm going to continue working on it but also going to get myself finishing up on my craft room now that everything is moved in and ready to set it up. Been checking out some great craft storage ideas which I'll share with my readers. Will show some beginning pics where I worked at the dining room table for several months but finally moved into a room after rearranging furniture and getting rid of some things we didn't need. I'm so excited to have a private area to work that I don't have to worry about the kids getting into or that I don't have to try to hide when people coming over. Every day going to spend some time working on the blog but also working on some projects. Look forward to getting really started. Also, purchased quite a few of the new spring products with Stampin'Up! so will be glad to show those off!

Sunday....Taking down the Tree!

Wow!!! It's so hard to believe that we are actually almost into a new year. This time tomorrow we'll all be waiting to see the ball drop either in person or on TV or like me probably in the bed. Been to sleep every year early and don't even know when the New Year roles in! On Tuesday, I'm going to blog about my new year's resolutions. They will be few but filling. I'm anxious to start working on my new craft room. Bought some items from Stampin'Up! today on the Clearance Blitz. I guess I'll just throw the stuff in with the other until I have a place to organize and work in peace. Lexy and Caitlin are here tonight and actually helping with taking down the tree and getting decorations packed back up. Back to work tomorrow before another day off.

Be sure to check out the Clearance Blitz on Stampin'Up! website! Lots of great items at great prices....paper, ribbon, punches, ink, stamps, etc. Buy today as the merchandise won't last long.

Also, think about joining in the Sales-a-bration!

Crafting into the New Year!

Well, it's Saturday, December 29 and I've been working today getting my craft table cleaned up and ready for spring crafting. I'll have to continue to work on Christmas cards, first, I've got so many ideas that I've got to try out and second, my list will be longer of those on want to send my handmade cards to. Also, have lots of pictures I want to get into my scrapbook. I'm also anxious to get my crafting out of my dining room and back into my craft room. When my mom came to live with us last May, I had to give up my craft area for an extra bed but now that I have that room available again we are working on getting everything rearranged so I can have my space back. I'll have to get my pictures posted so everyone can see what a mess I have.

Now, I'd like to mention that all crafters interested in Stampin'Up! can now see and purchase from the new Stampin'Up! Spring catalog. You can see it at http://CherylLaxton.stampinup.net

I'm working on a great calendar that you can decorate to your color scheme and use just about anywhere you need a calendar. This will probably be a craft night project in the future.

Wow!!! Today I received my new kit so I can actually start having demonstrations and selling the StampinUp! products. They are so much fun and you can create some beautiful cards, gifts, etc. I'm going to start holding a demonstration/make & take at a central location within the next couple of weeks. I'll charge around $6-10 and you can create at least 3 items and I'll supply product. You can make purchases of products you really like. Scrapbooking and Stamping is addictive and allows you so much relaxation. You don't have to be "crafty" to learn to do the cute gifts. Call me or check out my new website at StampinUp.com.

Gone Crazy with Scrapin & Stampin

Wow, just decided a few months ago to decide to start scrapbooking and that led to stamping. I've already spent way more than I should have but I'm working from home and staying with live-in mother and my husband works evening shift, so I wanted something to do. I fell in love with my first purchase of paper and haven't stopped since. I've purchased quite a lot on ebay with tools, embellishments, stamps, etc but I've also fell in love with Scrapbook.com. Prices are great and selection enormous. I'm interested in starting a new business with Stampin Up! and meeting with a demonstrator tomorrow to see if I can get this going. Maybe can save a little money but make money doing something I've found I love.
